2011 Herkimer ARC Annual Appeal
The Herkimer ARC is fortunate to have you as part of our wonderful community of supporters of our mission to enable people with disabilities and others in the community to achieve their full potential and to live enriched lives.
How will your gift help?
This year’s Annual Appeal will help the Herkimer ARC to provide safer travel for the approximately 500 individuals who are transported on buses each day. The nonprofit agency also provides shuttle service for Herkimer County Community College students and other groups throughout the year. Proceeds will be utilized to purchase and install both internal and external video cameras for each bus.
Past gifts have helped provide…equipment for gentler, safer and steadier transfers of those with disabilities to and from their homes and day or work programs; life-saving Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) for our CPR-certified staff at each of our sites; significant upgrades in occupational and physical therapy equipment to help our aging population with chronic pain, and their functional and independent mobility; and GPS units in buses enabling the rescue of passengers and drivers by locating distressed vehicles and dispatching emergency personnel to the exact location of an emergency.
