Empower People...Enrich Lives.

You can help the Herkimer ARC to assist individuals to achieve their full potential by supporting our mission to ensure all people are respected, lead meaningful lives, and enjoy all the privileges and responsibilities of citizenship.

The Herkimer ARC provides people with developmental, psychological, and physical disabilities, and others in need of services, with many opportunities from which to choose, including selecting individualized programs, living in safe and loving homes, working in supported vocational settings or in the community, or participating in volunteer activities, among many others. In fact, we provide services to 700 individuals each day, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Herkimer ARC is the premier provider of innovative and quality services for people within our community.

The Herkimer ARC is the Herkimer County Chapter of NYSARC, Inc., incorporated in 1969 in New York State as a private not-for-profit organization. Today we are governed by a voluntary Board of Directors comprised of community members. Our by-laws also require that more than a third of our Board members be blood relatives of people with disabilities to further give families a voice in policy making and governance.

How can you help? We’re always looking for people willing to donate their time, from playing bingo at the Senior Center to serving on a specific committee to assisting with one of our fundraisers—or learn how you can further support our mission by becoming a member or making a donation. Contact the Herkimer ARC's VP - Fund Development at (315) 574-7000 or email here for more information.
