HARC Fundraising Events
Annually, HARC organizes three premier events to raise funds.
Life is Beautiful Festival:
The Life is Beautiful Festival is held in July on the grounds of the HARC-Goodwill Store and the Career Connections offices, located at East Albany Street in Herkimer. The Festival includes the “Walk in My Shoes” Community Awareness Walk, the “Cruise to Care” Poker Run, food, games, live entertainment, and other family-friendly activities. Individuals seek pledges to walk in the Community Awareness Walk and drivers/riders pay a fee to ride in the Poker Run. All proceeds benefit unfunded and under-funded programs and services at HARC. The date of the 2010 Festival is to be determined.
Enabler Golf Tournament:
The Enabler Golf Tournament is held annually on the third Monday in May at the Cedar Lake Golf Club in Clayville. Nearly 150 golfers, including sponsors, play a captain and crew format with all the usual golf course games of skill. A bagged lunch, sit down dinner, beverages on the course, cocktail hour, and prizes for everyone are features of the event. Additionally, HARC sponsors a Masters Tournament Raffle, which includes an all-expense paid trip in April to the Masters Tournament in Augusta, GA. All proceeds benefit unfunded and under-funded programs and services at HARC.
New York International Wine Auction (NYIWA):
NYIWA is the premier charitable wine auction event in upstate New York. Since 1996, this event has drawn support from across the United States and abroad. Wine Seminars, a Silent Auction, and an International Wine Tasting are the prelude to a Live Auction, which takes place during a Five-course Gourmet Dinner. The auctions feature for bid fine lifestyle items, dinners, collectibles, trips, and large format bottles and collectible bottles of wine—both domestic and international.
