Annual Appeal
The Annual Life is Beautiful Appeal funds specific needs of the Herkimer ARC. Since 2003, the Appeals have raised over $282,486. Each year a member of the community chairs the Appeal and working with the Herkimer ARC Fund Development Committee selects vital and necessary items to be financed through the results of the Appeal. Members of the community are then asked to donate toward the purchase of those items through direct mail. Projects include:
;2005: An Herkimer ARC site building generator was purchased for the Administration/Classroom building, which will be utilized as a Command Center in the event of an emergency.
;2006: AEDs (Automated external defibrillators) were purchased to supplying life saving equipment in each of our facilities, including our residential homes.
;2007: Equipment was purchased to provide significant upgrades to help individuals maintain their functional and independent mobility.
;2008: GPS systems were funded giving the Herkimer ARC the ability to locate each bus used by Herkimer ARC and to improve communication.
;2009: Funded the purchase of adaptive equipment to continue to create a "lift free" environment throughout the Herkimer ARC to make transfers safer for both consumers and staff.
;2010: Covered the purchase of fire alarm systems and fire doors, the procurement of emergency generators for two residential homes, and the purchase of a lift system to be utilized for the Bridges to Success program classrooms.
;2011: Will cover the purchase of cameras for the Herkimer ARC fleet of buses to help ensure the welfare and safety of the individuals who ride the buses each day.

Following are the giving levels for the Herkimer ARC’s Annual Life is Beautiful Appeal. They represent the organizational values of the Herkimer ARC. All gifts of $10 or more will automatically enroll donors as a member of the Herkimer ARC.

Life is RESPECT: $20
Life is GROWTH: $50
Life is PASSION: $100
Life is FREEDOM: $200
Life is EXCELLENCE: $500
Life is LOVE: $1,000 or greater
Annual gifts
Donors may also give annually to the Herkimer ARC and not have their donations dedicated to the Life is Beautiful Appeal. Such donations may be directed by donors’ specifications or directed toward the operational needs of the Herkimer ARC. Contact the VP - Fund Development for details.
